Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef
2 tbsps montreal steak seasoning
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peas
1/2 cup carrots - cooked diced
1/2 cup corn , de-cobbed
6 cups mashed potatoes
1 cup shredded cheese (opt)
Preparation:
1. Pre-heat oven to 250°F
2. In a saute pan , on med - low, fry the ground beef or veggie in 2 tbsps of butter and steak spice until just done.
3. Add the carrots, peas and corn, fry for a few more minutes, stirring frequently.
4. Turn the mixture into a large casserole pan. Spread out evenly on the bottom.
5. Melt the remaining butter, and add it to the mashed potatoes, cream well, and spread evenly over the bottom layer. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
6. Bake for 45 minutes or so until the crust is a golden brown.
Serve with heated fresh-buttered bread.
